Straight Politicking (episode 68) with Alex Alonso and Munchie B discuss; a 13 year attempted murder cold case in Tennessee. A man wanted for a crime that occurred 13 years ago has been arrested by the Memphis Safe Task Force. U.S. Marshals announced 34-year-old Diego Armando Redonda Mendiola was apprehended after an arrest warrant was executed. Mendiola was wanted for multiple felony charges, including attempted first-degree murder, possession of firearm with intent to commit a felony, two counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon and for being the United States illegally. Marshals say Mendiola is a member of the Surenos 13 gang.
Secondly Pierre “Big Devil” Romain who was a member of the Rollin 60s Neighborhood Crips who convicted in the 1987 shooting death of Jade Clark outside a Hollywood nightclub during a car jacking. Despite being a primary suspect at the time, he managed to avoid prosecution and eventually pursued a career in law enforcement, becoming a police officer in Santa Maria. His past remained hidden for over fifteen years until advancements in forensic technology allowed detectives to match his DNA to a bullet casing found at the original crime scene. This discovery led to his dramatic arrest in 2003, exposing a double life that shocked both the community and his fellow officers. After years of legal maneuvering and delays, Romain was finally convicted of first-degree murder in 2017 and sentenced to life in prison.
