Drivers were left stranded after flash flooding swept across parts of New York City following a powerful thunderstorm in Queens. Video filmed along the Van Wyck Expressway shows multiple vehicles trapped in deep floodwater as heavy rain overwhelmed the roadway.
According to the filmer, the intense storm lasted around 15 minutes before skies quickly cleared, though flooding continued to impact several areas across the city. The footage captures backed-up traffic and submerged cars as emergency conditions unfolded on one of Queens busiest highways.
