Rain910 reveals he almost gave up on rap—and opens up about why he quit lean and Percocet.
From doubting his future in music to rebuilding his health and confidence, Rain explains the struggles behind his turnaround.
Speaking with Knowledge Tha God of HipHopIsReal during Summer Madness weekend, Rain reflects on losing close friends, missed opportunities and listening to criticism that made him question whether to keep going. Those experiences inspired the title of his album, So Close to Never Happening.
Rain also gets personal about his drug use and the decision to take better care of himself: “I put the cup down. I put the perks down. And I got in the gym.” Starting with one pull-up and two push-ups, he explains how consistency helped change his discipline and outlook.
On the music side, Rain discusses moving beyond relying on battle rap fans for support, getting consistent with his marketing and crediting Knowledge Tha God’s encouragement with helping him become more active online. He also talks about his first deal with Monarch, building Vision Play and says his collaborations with Ross and Benny each surpassed one million streams.
