Young Dolph & Key Glock Talk ‘Dum and Dummer,’ Memphis Rap Scene & Being Indie | Everyday Struggle

On Thursday’s (Aug. 1) episode of #EverydayStruggle, Nadeska, Wayno and DJ Akademiks are joined by Memphis natives Key Glock and Young Dolph, the duo who recently released the collaborative project, ‘Dum and Dummer’ via Paper Route Empire. Dolph and Glock share with the EDS trio the inspiration behind the project, the idea behind the promo viral skits and how the mixtape came together. Later in the episode, Dolph shares in detail the reason for turning down a $22 million major label deal and why he’s better off being independent than signed. Dolph also opens up about the current Memphis rap scene, and speaks on how he’s influenced other artists in his region via his music and style. Towards the end of the show, Glock shares with the crew how he and Dolph first met, and speaks on the reason why he decided to join Dolph’s label. To conclude the show, Dolph and Glock talk about what’s next for the indie empire.
