Workers test Squid Game replica in Bangkok

This is the amusing moment workers were spotted testing a giant Squid Game jump rope in Bangkok.

Jernoon Jernee and her friends watched as a group of employees, equipped with safety helmets and reflective vests, tried out the game in Lan Khon Mueang during a dry run.

Footage shows the staff jumping as the massive, stiff rope, held by the towering dolls Young-hee and her boyfriend Cheol-su, swung beneath their feet on June 23.

The 12-metre-tall giant dolls – replicas from the deadly Jump Rope challenge in Squid Game Season 3 – are positioned near the Giant Swing in Bangkok's Old Town.

Visitors can play a real-life version of the series' iconic skipping rope game, with the giant dolls swinging the rope, from June 28 to July 6.

However, unlike the Netflix series, none of the participants plunge to their death to have their organs harvested.

Squid Game Season 3 premiered globally on Netflix on June 27. The final season continues the intense storyline, with protagonist Seong Gi-hun returning to the deadly games after the loss of his friend Jung-bae.

The South Korean Netflix series, originally released in 2021, depicts a deadly competition where contestants play children's games for a large cash prize.

Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk drew inspiration from his own economic struggles, as well as issues of class disparity and capitalism in South Korea.

The show became Netflix's most-watched series and topped charts in 94 countries.
