Willie D spoke to VladTV about Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” originally being taken off of the country charts. He explained that country music was started by black people and was taken away, adding that it’s now heavily guarded by the gatekeepers who say can get in.

During the conversation, Willie D shared why he thinks that hip hop is the “whore of the industry,” and he explained why a country artist would have a top hip-hop hit if he used a rap beat in one of his songs. To hear more, including the Geto Boys being one of the first southern rap groups, hit the above clip.
