While everyone is talking about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards, we thought we’d turn our attention to another Will … Will Packer! The numbers are in and Packer and his producing partner Shayla Cowan delivered a spectacular show as the first African-American producers of Hollywood’s biggest night.
Sunday’s Oscars drew 16.6 million total viewers on ABC, according to Nielsen’s Live + Same Day national numbers, a significant improvement from 2021’s record low.
The 2022 Oscars also saw a leap of 139% in social media activity over the 2021 Oscars and a whopping 22.7 million total social interactions.
Packer and Shayla told HH on the carpet before the show that producing the Oscars wasn’t on their bucket list, but they were excited and up for the challenge.
