Unplanned World War II bomb blast occurs in Yarmouth during detonation attempt

The blast was heard for miles.

According to BBC, Nick Davison, Norfolk’s assistant chief constable, said: “The device detonated shortly after work had started to disarm the device.

“The approach had been the safest option to disarm the device. However, it always carried a risk of unintended detonation.

“Thankfully, all personnel have been accounted for and agencies are coming together to assess damage to the river wall.”

The filmer told Newsflare: “I live on the street about five houses down from the danger zone. I’d been on the look out for it and asking for regular updates. People there were trying to catch it … I just got the phone out at the right time.”
