Two huge cobras were seen locked in a mesmerising combat dance in a mating ritual.
Footage shows the two 8ft-long serpents reaching their heads up from the ground and slinking around each other under a bush in a family’s garden in Chachoengsao province, Thailand, on August 26.
They made spiral movements and occasionally tried to gently strike one another on their necks while their lower bodies were tightly entangled.
Karaked Choochuay watched as the reptiles continued their fascinating dual for several minutes before the slithered away into the undergrowth.
The snake mating ritual involves a male doing courtship displays to attract a female’s attention, like vibrating its tail, coiling around the female, or releasing pheromones.
