Tour Guide Pushed Her Into Turtle

This is the shocking moment a tour guide pushed a snorkeller down, almost causing her to crash into a turtle.

Honey Mae Incio was waving at the camera during a dive in Cebu, the Philippines, when her guide suddenly shoved her downward the passing green sea turtle.

Footage shows the worker extending his arm onto holidaymaker's back to force her closer to the animal on August 19.

The impact nearly caused Honey to collide with the creature, but she quickly braced herself on the seabed to avoid contact.

Green sea turtles are strictly protected under Philippine law. Tourists are prohibited from touching them as this can cause stress, disrupt their natural behaviour, and even spread harmful bacteria. Oils and sunscreen from human skin may also damage their shells.

The rule is part of eco-tourism guidelines designed to protect endangered species and ensure safe, sustainable encounters.

Under the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (RA 9147), violations involving endangered animals such as green sea turtles are punishable by four to six years in prison and fines ranging from 50,000 PHP to 500,000 PHP (approximately 650 to 6,500 GBP).
