I went on a weekend trip to Pembrokeshire coast national park with some travel friends. Before going I looked up where to visit in the area, as soon as I found out we could see puffins we had to go! This was the first time I had seen puffins in real life! It took a 10 minute boat trip from martins haven and we spent the whole day walking around the island, also inhabited by guillemots and often visited by dolphins. The island is very scenic, peaceful and natural. We had to pack our own lunch as there are no cafes or shops on the island. We went in May as this is breeding season for the puffins, when they are all nesting on the island. This year the wildlife trust of south and west wales have counted 43,000 puffins on the island! It was beautiful to see them interacting with each other in their natural environment and something I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the pembrokshire area!
