While it may have been pushed back this year due to the pandemic, the time for the Met Gala is upon us and we can’t wait.
For years, we’ve seen our favorite celebrities strut down the extravagant red carpet that is the annual Met Gala event. It’s a night full of high fashion, celebrity entertainment and money being raised for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. And when we say “money”, we mean a lot of it. When you have hundreds of celebrities in designer outfits who were approved by Anna Wintour herself, you’d better believe there’s a ton of money involved for an event that costs literal millions to put on.
A single ticket to the Met Gala will easily run you anywhere from $30 – 35,000. And yes, that’s for one ticket! If you’re thinking of buying a table for the event, be prepared to dish out a minimum of $200,000. But you can expect to pay much more than that. In fact, when Yahoo sponsored the event in 2015, they paid a whopping $3 million for two tables. And don’t even get us started on some of the ensembles celebrities have worn over the years. Honestly, the cost of the jewelry that Blake Lively wore in 2018 will make your head spin. When you think about it, there’s no wonder the event is filled with A-list celebrities; they’re the only ones that can afford to go! But nonetheless, every year, most of us can’t help but to get excited for what styles we’ll see on the red carpet.
