When he was at the peak of his powers in the early 2000’s , Ja Rule was offered a role in the Fast and Furious Franchise. But, he got a little big for his boots and asked for 30 million dollars. It’s safe to say they went in another direction and Ja probably gets nightmares about missing that bag.
But, he wasn’t even the only rapper to miss out on a financial windfall by appearing in the film. Before the signature role eventually went to Paul Walker, None other than Eminem was supposed to step into the shoes of undercover cop Brian O’Conner and try to bring down Vin Diesel. Man, what could’ve been.
This is also what Fat Joe says in relation to Shady himself because in various interviews, he’s spoke about how he turned down the chance to sign Em to Terror Squad six times. It’s safe to say he still regrets it.
Finally, we’ve got Will Smith who rejected the offer of a lifetime. Back in 2000, he got to choose between being Neo in The Matrix and starring in the critically derided Wild Wild West. One film flopped and the other one was the matrix. But it doesn’t stop their, because Later, Will did the same thing with Django Unchained because he felt that “Django wasn’t the lead.”
