A pop star is under constant scrutiny and Taylor Swift found solace by being perfect. Better after a leaked phone conversation with Kim Kardashian, the public turned their backs against Taylor Swift. Her good girl image was shattered and she had to re-find herself.
The new Taylor was born with her album Reputation. A brash pop star no longer hiding her voice. What did she want people to know? She stood up for herself and fans. Taylor was clear she did not stand for inequality of any kind. She used her position to get her fans active in politics to encourage voting out Trump. It was not easy as her self-worth was tied up to her image. Keeping her voice down was a requirement for that. But amid the pandemic she quietly donated to support people. 2020 ushered in her new sound on folklore, a post-pop era. It was a release after Lover where she emotionally sang about her mother’s cancer. The news doesn’t get her down to stop her. Along with her activism, Taylor Swift is also a pop icon.
