Hundreds of surfers descended on Tamarack Beach for Slamarack 2025, an unofficial annual surf flash mob that transformed the Southern California coastline into a full-blown aquatic mosh pit with boards flying, bodies colliding, and chaos unfolding on every wave.
The event, described by locals as the apocalypse of surfing, saw thousands of participants paddling into the same wave simultaneously, resulting in wipeouts, airborne launches, and foam-board pileups. A viral video from the day, shared on Instagram, has racked up over 3 million views.
