When Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey who knew the firestorm they would have created from a simple interview. Well…. Maybe we all knew. Especially looking back 26 years at the interview Princess Diana did with Martin Bashir in November of 1995. As Harry said, history has a way of repeating itself, and if you look closely at these two interviews, you will see just how much repetition has happened between now and then. We’ve already discussed that Meghan is following in Princess Diana’s footsteps, but in this video, we are diving in to see just how many similarities there are between Meghan’s interview with Oprah and Princess Diana’s interview with Martin Bashir. And there are plenty. The two women both open up about struggles with their mental health, how the press treated them, how the press made up stories about them pitting them against other women. Meghan even wore one of Diana’s bracelets in the interview so she could have a piece of her Mother In Law’s strength with her as she did the interview. We would have hoped there would have been change between Diana and Meghan, but it seems like the institution of the royal family has not learned from past mistakes.
