Rebecca from Long Island, New York has to use a ventilator after sustaining a spinal cord injury. On her birthday, Rebecca uses the ventilator tube to blow out her birthday candles while everyone laughs. According to Rebecca, she can still breathe without the tube because she has something called “a diaphragmatic pacer”.
