Remembering the Tulsa Massacre 100 years later | ‘REVOLT BLACK NEWS’

The #Tulsa Massacre is one of the most devastating events in American #history. In 1921, a large white mob, police officers included, stormed the Greenwood District of Tulsa, which was known as “Black Wall Street” and spanned 35 blocks, and murdered over 1,000 Black residents; burned down over 1,200 homes; and left thousands more homeless. What was once a thriving Black neighborhood, where entrepreneurs and professionals such as lawyers resided, was no more in the blink of an eye. One hundred years later, in 2021, we remember this devastation, honor its victims, survivors and their descendants; and acknowledge that there is still more work to be done today to combat racism in this country. #blackwallstreet
