A surprising and heartbreaking turn of events in the life of former WWE Pro Wrestler Shad Gaspard. The 6’7” 235 pound star has seemingly vanished without a trace while swimming with his ten year old son in California’s newly reopened Venice Beach.
Nicknamed The Beast during his WWE days – Gaspard was best known for his Cryme Tyme days with partner JTG. But here are a few other things you may not have heard about this giant but gentle soul.
First up!
Lights, Camera, Shad!
Those WWE Wrestling cameras weren’t the only ones that loved Shad. He transitioned into acting in 2011 and appeared on tv shows including The Exes, Key and Peele and From Dusk Till Dawn. And in the blockbuster film Black Panther.
Number Two –
The Bodyguard.
Shad went straight from college basketball in Georgia into the bodyguard business – squaring shoulders for Britney Spears, Mike Tyson, and Puff Daddy (what does he call himself these days kevin?) along with a host of rappers.
Number Three –
Fit to Be Wed!
Shad’s stunning fitness model wife actually became a model and competitive bodybuilder AFTER the birth of their now ten year old son. She called the pregnancy weight she gained – bothersome.
Number Four –
The Contender.
Shad actually could have ended up in a very different ring – the boxing ring. His father started training him to fight as well as study the martial arts when he was just five years old.
Number Five –
Bullet Proof.
Would you point a gun at The Beast? One man did and got taken down by Shad. Gaspard once told TMZ that he was faced with a armed man at a gas station convenience store and rather than stand there and take it – he took the man down. Luckily it was just a bb gun.
