R. Kelly’s ex-wife Andrea Kelly appeared on the TV One daytime talk show “Sister Circle” yesterday to speak about her marriage to the singer, as People reports. The dancer, choreographer, and reality show star, married to Kelly from 1996 to 2009, opened up about the alleged domestic abuse she says she endured during her marriage. In a tearful interview with host Syleena Johnson, Kelly said that she once she felt as if she was on the verge of suicide. She said that she typed “domestic abuse” into her laptop, which led her to an online questionnaire. “It was 17 questions, and they ask you, ‘Has your abuse ever done…?’” she said while crying. “And of the 17, Robert had done 15 to me.”At one point in the interview, Andrea Kelly addressed her ex-husband directly, discussing claims he made about her in his 2013 memoir Soulacoaster. “Robert, you don’t get to tell my story… You don’t get to tell people that we got divorced because I had a problem with being a stay-at-home mom,” she said. (The two have three children together.) “We got divorced because I was no longer going to sit and be violated. What he did to me was criminal.”
