Offset A TARGET OF THE HIP HOP POLICE? His Lawyer Thinks So!!

Offset Lawyer Thinks his client is a victim of discrimination, He asserts that Cardi B’s husband Offset was targeted by police due to his race and wealth, his lawyer said Saturday.

‘We’re talking about a young, African-American man driving a shiny, beautiful luxury car and clad in designer clothes and watches and jewelry,’ the lawyer, Drew Findling told TMZ, calling it a ‘common theme’ in crime and punishment in the wake of the rapper’s arrest earlier this week.

‘Unfortunately people in his genre become a target for law enforcement who think that lifestyle is connected to some illegal activity … and that is a sad statement,’ Findling said.

The 26-year-old Migos rapper on Friday was charged in Atlanta, Georgia with possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a weapon during a crime – both felonies – and possession of marijuana (one ounce or less) and an improper lane change.

Findling said that Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was pulled over for the lane change in a bid to pin more severe charges on him.

Offset’s assistant, the passenger in his car, had a license to carry guns and had firearms in the car for security purposes, the lawyer said.
