Police and firefighters in Sherwood, Oregon, rescued a young child with autism after he was spotted running on the roof of a home.
Officers climbed up to secure the child and keep him calm while firefighters assisted with bringing him down safely. The child’s grandmother, unable to reach the roof herself, stayed nearby as responders worked together.
Authorities shared the story to highlight the importance of patience and understanding when responding to children on the autism spectrum.
