Hundreds of people flocked to San Franciscos Potrero Hill neighbourhood on Easter Sunday for the citys famously chaotic Bring Your Own Big Wheel event, where costumed adults and children race plastic tricycles down one of the steepest, curviest streets in town.
The annual tradition now running for more than 24 years sees participants don everything from superhero outfits to full novelty costumes as they launch themselves down Vermont Street, a winding slope often compared to Lombard Street. The free, volunteerrun event typically features childrens races in the early afternoon, followed by adults hurtling downhill from 3 pm to 5 pm.
The clip, posted on Instagram by traveljeanieous, captures the energy of the day as crowds line the street to cheer on riders skidding, spinning, and occasionally wiping out on their tiny plastic wheels.
Celebrated as a quintessential onlyinSF spectacle, the event continues to draw locals and visitors alike, blending community spirit with pure, joyful chaos.
