Even though Nicki Minaj is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time – male or female – lately, her role as Queen of Rap has taken a hit. As other female rappers like Cardi B explode on the charts with songs like Bodak Yellow and younger rappers make their way on the scene, Nicki Minaj’s career seems like it may have seen its peak.

After her major success between 2010 and 2018, the Starships singer earned a huge following of fans known as “Barbies”. She found success both in music and on screen, also diving into tech and endorsement deals. But her frustration mounted when, with hit after hit, she failed to make it to the number one spot on the biggest charts, or earn a coveted Grammy award, even with several nominations. As Cardi B’s career lapped Nicki’s, Nicki seemed to take a step back from the spotlight, being more private about her personal life.

Fans had a hard time dealing with Nicki’s private attitude including her secret wedding and now speculated pregnancy. While Nicki keeps her life under wraps, rival Cardi B enjoys giving fans a consistent stream of behind the scenes into her personal life with daughter Kulture. Now with Nicki’s popular verse being cut from Kanye West’s new track , fans are wondering if her career is on a downward spiral.
