In a recent interview, Neckbone, who was driving behind Tupac Shakur on the night he was shot in Las Vegas, revealed new details about the infamous attack. Neckbone recounted how their caravan was being followed and zigzagged by rival gang members, specifically naming the Southside Crips as the assailants. According to Neckbone, they anticipated trouble after an incident involving Orlando Anderson. As the shooting erupted near Flamingo and Koval, Neckbone heard around 12-14 gunshots and struggled to escape the scene as the Cadillac carrying Tupac sped away. He described the chaos afterward, including police officer Chris Carroll pulling over the vehicles amid confusion, not recognizing the occupants and fearing a shootout on the crowded Strip. Tupac, bleeding and barely conscious, refused to cooperate with the police. This firsthand account from Neckbone sheds light on the tense moments leading up to and following the drive-by shooting that changed hip-hop history.
