Morris Day opened up to VladTV about Prince taking creative control on The Time’s first album by playing all the instruments and laying out their vocal arrangements, despite having big talent in the group. Morris explained that Prince used the pseudonym “Jamie Starr” in the album credits, but Morris said he wasn’t hiding behind the name. He went on to speak about The Time going on Prince’s “Controversial” tour and Prince starting beef between The Time and his band by throwing eggs during their show.
