Miles Minnick stopped by HOT 97 to talk with us about his new album Via Delarosa, out now. He broke down the meaning behind the title, the song he thinks new listeners should start with, and his personal favorite on the project. Miles opened up about working with some huge names like Keak Da Sneak, G-Eazy, E-40, Mistah FAB, Kamaiyah, and Brooke Valentine, including the story of how Keak Da Sneak ended up dropping one of his signature hooks on the album. He also reflected on his track “The Method” with E-40 and Lecrae, and what it was like creating alongside them.
We also asked Miles about the viral moment of him praying with G-Eazy, how people come to him for guidance, and what prayer means to him personally. We talked about whether he feels artists shift their content when they collaborate with him, and the line in his song “Outside” about walking in your purpose. Miles shared how long it took him to realize his own purpose, and spoke on his upcoming tour with Lecrae and their joint project Get Well Soon. Finally, he reacted to being honored by his hometown of Pittsburg, California, and played a round of “Blessings or Lessons,” weighing in on everything from going independent to hearing that his music led someone to faith.
