Rising Philly rapper Lil Nizzy was left temporarily paralyzed after being shot in close proximity around 12:30 am on Monday in the city. According to ABC 6, Nizzy, real name Nasir Talington, was shot alongside his cousin, 16-year-old Hakim Bey.
Nizzy’s sister, Najae Talington, said that she believes the shooting was due to jealousy over the rapper’s newfound fame. She told ABC 6, “I think it was jealousy because he don’t bother nobody. He minds his business, takes care of his family and supports his fans.”
Police say the shooter ran from the scene and has yet to be apprehended. Both Nizzy and his cousin will undergo additional surgeries.
