In this clip, MC Serch detailed the story behind meeting Pete Nice and how that led to the eventual formation of 3rd Bass. MC Serch explained how he was close to closing a record deal as a solo artist before the group and how Lyor Cohen who was managing him at the time was vehemently against the group idea. He even said Lyor called his mother to see if she could deter him from joining the group. MC Serch even added how the group landed on the name 3rd Bass after ruminating over “3 Hard D***.”
