Matt Barnes opened up to VladTV about turning down a 3-year, $12 million dollar deal from the Warriors after being told that he should be making more than double that after helping the team make history the previous season. Barnes added that he signed with the team on a 1-year, $4 million deal after not being able to secure a bigger contract with other teams, and his mother passed away at the beginning of the season. He explained how the huge loss led to his performance slipping, and Matt added how then-coach Don Nelson felt disrespected that he turned down the $12 million deal and didn’t play him.
