In this flashback, Matt Barnes opened up about faking a pass in front of Kobe’s face, which turned into the viral “Kobe flinch” moment. He explained that Kobe was one of his most fierce competitors of all time, and Matt says Kobe was notorious for sneaking things that the refs wouldn’t catch and later being called by the refs for reacting. Matt says during that particular match against the Lakers, he was really getting angry with Kobe before faking the pass. Matt went on to speak about Kobe personally calling him up about his plans when he was leaving Orlando, and Matt ultimately decided to go to the Lakers after speaking with Kobe.
