In this clip, Lord Jamar explained why he chose to carry a gun after being caught and ultimately charged with possession. He said that he was really immersed in the street life prior to Brand Nubian taking off and felt like he needed to maintain that mentality. However, Lord Jamar said he soon realized that he didn’t need to have one on him at all times considering the fact that Brand Nubian’s brand was all about positivity and black uplift. He also said that the anxiety of having a gun on him got to him and that it ultimately wasn’t worth the risk.
