Lord Jamar Discusses Eric Garner’s Death & “Fear of Black Man” (Flashback)

In this VladTV Flashback from 2014, Lord Jamar shared his thoughts on the death of Eric Garner, a Staten Island resident who died after being put in a chokehold by an NYPD officer. Lord Jamar also said he’s familiar with that part of the borough and remarks that “there ain’t nothing serious going on around there.” Jamar believes the situation escalated in the way it did because police were intimidated by the man’s stature.

Lord Jamar then went into other New York residents who have died at the hands of the NYPD, commenting that “the fear of the black man, and his strength, almost leads to things like this.” Jamar references Garner’s size and says the police wouldn’t have run up on a “soft dude.” Watch above.
