LaShonda Renee Hearts was a 47-year-old armed security guard who was simply doing her job when she was caught in the middle of one of the most senseless “crash outs” in the city’s history.
Just weeks before her murder, LaShonda sent a text to her loved ones expressing her pure joy for her new job at Garda, saying, “I have a new job with great pay and benefits… Ain’t God good.” Sadly, on November 15, 2021, that journey was cut short by members of the 800 gang.
