In this clip, King Los paints the picture of what it was like to grow up on the west side of Baltimore. The freestyle rap legend describes his hometown as “beautiful ugly.” He goes on to explain that although the streets were rough there, making it out of Baltimore prepared him for life as a man every else that he would go.
As the discussion continues, the “Old Crown” rapper shares how his rough upbringing inspired his lyrics as an emcee. He also talks about visiting major Metropolitan areas like New York City and Los Angeles and how they changed the course his career path as he dropped out of college shortly thereafter to pursue music full time. Lastly, King Los attempts to teach Shirley Ju how to use Baltimore lingo.
