In this clip, Kamaiyah speaks about why she believes she’s the only female artist to blow up out of the Bay Area. She explained that she had the mentality that she was going to make it on her own accord and pave her own way in the industry. Kamaiyah went on to speak about not feeling the need to look a certain way as a female rapper. She added how she’s friends with a lot of famous female rappers and would love to have an all-female tour.
Kamaiyah went on to speak about being the biggest underground artist right now, and not wanting to be a celebrity. She went on to speak about being 100% independent now and how Oakland artists Keyshia Cole and MC Hammer being big influences. To hear more, hit the above clip.
