John John Da Don exposes who he believes is really hurting battle rap—and says the fans becoming battlers are not the real problem.
During his interview with Knowledge Tha God of HipHopIsReal, John John responds to Vixen’s comments about the declining talent level in battle rap. While he agrees that some newer battlers are not ready, he argues that almost every established battler started as a fan of the culture.
According to John John, the bigger problem is people receiving platforms before they have fully developed, friends creating fake hype and battle rap cliques convincing artists they have already made it.
John John also addresses random league owners entering the culture, major matchups being wasted and battlers accepting opportunities because of the deposit. He explains why he respects the way ARP paid attention, attended events and learned the culture before building RBE.
