Jimmy Keene, the undercover operative who played a crucial role in getting serial killer Larry Hall to confess to his crimes, was recently interviewed on VladTV. Keene, who is also an executive producer of the Apple TV series “Blackbird” which depicts his story, discussed his background and the events that led to his involvement with the case.

Keene grew up in Kankakee, Illinois, an area known for its high crime and unemployment rates. He had a promising future in football, with dreams of playing professionally or becoming a cop. However, after his parents’ divorce, his life took a different turn. At a young age, Keene began selling marijuana. He stumbled upon a stash in a cornfield with his brother and friends and decided to start a business. While he supplied the weed, older kids in the neighborhood did the selling. When Keene turned 17, his mother kicked him out of the house, prompting him to move to Chicago.
