In this VladTV clip, Jason Weaver spoke about starring as Simba in the Lion King, playing the singing voice of the character in the animated movie. He noted that he was recruited by Elton John to be the singing voice while he was filming the Jacksons movie. Weaver said Elton John personally approached his mother and asked permission to submit him for consideration to work on the Lion King at Disney.
Weaver noted that he sang “I Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Hakuna Matata,” and another unreleased song for the film. He laughed when asked if he could still those sings, noting that his voice got too deep.
