Is Joel Embiid Lazy? πŸ‘€ #Shorts

Max Kellerman told Rich Paul, LeBron James’ agent, on the Game Over podcast that according to Brian Scalabrine, Joel Embiid was the one player on Team USA who didn’t compete on work ethic. Every headline says Paul shut it down. Listen to the full answer: “What Scal is saying, normally, yeah, that is the case… but I don’t think so in this case.” Paul confirmed the pattern, then defended a different summer.

The rumor is third-hand and no reporter has advanced it. The record is worse than the rumor anyway: Embiid played 57 games over the last two seasons (ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne), LeBron played 60 last season at 41, Sixers president Mike Gansey said in August the team will map out back-to-backs and minute restrictions once the schedule drops, and on the same day Paul spoke, Philadelphia brought 7-foot-6 Tacko Fall into training camp on an Exhibit 10 deal.

LeBron was on the 2024 Olympic roster when Embiid got zero minutes against South Sudan. He signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Sixers anyway.
