Shots were fired along the Brooklyn waterfront on Tuesday night during the filming of a music video by the New York rappers 50 Cent and 6ix9ine, the police said. No one was reported hurt.
A man called 911 shortly before 9 p.m. to report that he heard multiple gunshots outside 18 Noble Street in the Greenpoint neighborhood, the police said.
Patrol officers canvassed the area around the video set and found 11 bullet casings and cartridges from two handguns: a .380-caliber and a 9-millimeter.
Detectives were looking for video or other evidence related to the shooting. It was not known Tuesday afternoon who fired the shots, who the target was or who was on the set at the time.
6ix9ine, a Brooklyn-based rapper whose given name is Daniel Hernandez, told the police on July 22 that he had been the target of a violent robbery in Crown Heights. He reported that two men had rear-ended his S.U.V. around 4:30 that morning and forced him into their car at gunpoint. He told detectives the men hit him, drove him to a home and forced him to hand over jewelry.
He was taken to the hospital, then stopped cooperating with detectives, the police said.
Two months earlier, in late May, he was accused of assaulting an officer in a Brooklyn station house. The police said he twisted a lieutenant’s hand as he was detained on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
