The attack, executed by Albanians and orchestrated by rival Phil, pushed Borrello to seek vengeance. Despite his demands for retribution, Al Trucchio, a multimillionaire with Gambino ties, rebuffed the call for violence. Frustrated, Borrello turned to the Bonannos, finding an ally in Ronnie Giallanzo who permitted retaliation. Borrello’s vendetta unfolded through relentless attacks against Phil, including arson and an attempted bombing. Ironically, this fierce pursuit ended only because of Borrello diverting his focus to another rival.
