With just four miles left in the tank, Malik pulled up to a Sunoco station, expecting a quick refuel, but instead, found himself at the center of a gas pump disaster.
Unaware that the previous customer had driven off with the hose still attached, leaving it broken but deceptively intact, Malik swiped his card, selected 93, and pulled the trigger, only for gas to start spraying everywhere from the top of the pump, all while his credit card continued to charge for every spilled drop.
Panicked, he ran to the teller for an emergency stop, but getting help took longer than expected.
