Michael Dorsey (Day 5 / Witness 18), testified in the trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, and he is a Filmmaker. that discussed his extensive work reviewing LAPD investigative files and filming true-crime projects about the case. Dorsey explained that after reading former detective Greg Kading’s book, he partnered with Kading to direct the 2015 documentary Murder Rap using official police task force materials.
He detailed interviewing key figures such as Reggie Wright Jr. and explained the background of Eric “Von Zip” Martin, including Martin’s connections to Sean Combs and Biggie Smalls. Additionally, Dorsey confirmed that he assisted earlier witness Mario Diaz by drafting interview questions for BET’s Death Row Chronicles. During his appearance, prosecutors presented video clips—including footage of Tupac Shakur leaving the MGM Grand—to corroborate the evidentiary timeline surrounding Keefe D’s statements. Dorsey’s testimony concluded with the state playing additional audio recordings, and he is scheduled to resume his testimony as trial proceedings continue.
