Faizon Love opened up to VladTV about previously calling Spike Lee a “house negro” and not being a fan of Spike Lee’s Malcolm X. After agreeing that Denzel should’ve won an Oscar, Faizon explained that he didn’t like Spike Lee putting himself in the movie. He also explained that Spike’s character was derivative of Malcolm X’s friendship with comedian Redd Foxx, and Faizon believes Spike could’ve taken the chance in the film to enlighten people on their friendship. Faizon also explained that he wasn’t a fan of Spike Lee taking money from Bill Cosby to finish Malcolm X and then not defending him against sexual misconduct allegations when they first arose.
