Earlier this month, Fabolous (born John David Jackson) was indicted on four felony charges from an alleged assault on his partner Emily B back in March. Today, Oct. 22, the Brooklyn bred rapper pled not guilty to assaulting and threatening the former Love and Hip-Hop star in a North Bergen County Superior court, Bossip reports.
Fab’s lawyer, Brian Neary forenamed the rapper’s position as “not guilty” and revealed a prosecutor has reached out in regards to a possible plea agreement which involves Fab pleading guilty to only one count of
“felony brandishing and threatening a domestic violence victim with scissors.” The plea will overall put Fabolous in a position to avoid trial and jail time.
On March 7th, the “Make Me Better” rapper became irate when he learned his partner Emily Bustamente was in Los Angeles at the same time as him through Instagram, according to the court documents obtained by NorthJersey.com. Through text messaging, Fab reportedly threatened to hit Emily in the head with a baseball bat and kill her. He later on allegedly punched Emily in the face seven times, causing her to lose two of her front teeth.
The alteration continued three weeks later when Fabolous reportedly challenged the father and brother of his partner. The quarrel resulted in Bustamente instructing her father to retrieve two hidden handguns and Fab allegedly threatening the three family members, telling the father there is a “bullet with his name on it.”
Since reports have surfaced stating Fabolous and Emily B’s dad reconciled the very next day and have actually been “hanging out together like family,” according to TMZ.
Unfortunately, the judge has concluded Fab is not eligible for Pre Trial Intervention, a program for first-time offenders that is usually geared towards non-violent crimes in the state of New Jersey.
