Boxing legend Evander Holyfield provided an insight into his humble beginnings and his journey to becoming one of the world’s greatest champions. Born in Alabama, Holyfield recounted his upbringing as the youngest of nine children in a single-parent household. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, he began attending a local Boys Club at age six, where he first discovered an interest in boxing. Yet, Holyfield admitted he didn’t participate in street fights, a common starting point for many boxers. Instead, he had an innate determination from an early age, and after joining the boxing team, he quickly made a name for himself, earning the nickname “One Punch Holyfield.” His rise to fame was sparked by winning his first Boys Club Boxing Tournament.
