Dallas Austin spoke about working with TLC after being approached by Babyface and LA Reid. He noted that he and T-Boz were friends already because he used to go rollerskating with her.
He noted that his goal was to make them the female version of Bell Biv DeVoe. Austin noted TLC’s content and beats made it difficult to get radio play, so his thought was to shoot the video first and give people a glimpse of what the girls looked like. From there, Dallas Austin broke down TLC’s contract with Pebbles, and noted that they went over four-times platinum after signing the infamous contract.
