Rapper CJ sat down for his first-ever VladTV interview, and he started off opening up to Shawn Prez about growing up in Staten Island in the Southgate-area of the borough. CJ then explained why he thinks Staten Island doesn’t get the same love as the other boroughs, and he went on to speak about listening to hip-hop at 6-years-old, and starting to write around 12.
Moving along, CJ talked about his upbringing in Staten Island and the dynamics between his parents, growing up. The “Whoopty” rapper reveals that although he was raised by a single mother, his father began to come around once he rose to prominence as a rapper. As the discussion unfolds, CJ touches on what he was like as a student in school and some of the troubles eventually led to him getting locked up.
