Chanel West Coast joined Nessa on Hot 97 to discuss her new show on MTV, “West Coast Hustle” journey as a new mom and the challenges of balancing her career and motherhood. She talked about her recovery process and the pressure to look a certain way, leading her to undergo liposuction. Chanel opened up about feeling guilty for working while being a mom and her biggest fears as a parent. She also shared insights into her parenting style, how reality TV impacted her relationship, and her role as an executive producer.
Chanel reflected on leaving “Ridiculousness” after 30 seasons and her music career’s evolution, including making music and her debut album during the pandemic and being called Little Fergie by will.i.am. She also got emotional and starts tearing up while talking about how grateful she was that her friends appeared on her docuseries and their serious storyline on the show.
She talked about the importance of having the right team, her father’s reaction to her music, and what it was like being signed by Young Money, the co-sign from Lil Wayne, their first meeting and getting advice from Lil Wayne. Chanel also discussed her reality show “The West Coast Hustle,” her boyfriend Dom, and her ventures into fashion with LOL Cartel and COASTY Swim.
